Alaska offers a summer experience unlike anywhere else, combining breathtaking landscapes, unique communities, and opportunities to build connections across cultures. This season, Intrax Work Travel visited participants and host partners throughout Seward, Denali, and Fairbanks to see how the Summer Work Travel experience is taking shape.
Connecting with Participants Across Alaska
From Seward to Denali and Fairbanks, our visits brought opportunities to catch up with participants, connect with host teams, and hear about their experiences living and working in the United States.
At Zudy’s Cafe in Seward, participants from Thailand shared positive feedback about their placements. Some were already interested in returning for another summer, a great sign of how meaningful a positive Work Travel experience can be.
We also visited participants and host teams at Holland America Denali Lodge, Denali Princess Lodge, Grande Denali Lodge, Fountainhead’s Wedgewood Resort and Sophie Station Hotel, Seward Windsong Lodge, and Harbor 360 Hotel. The overall feedback from our visits was positive, reflecting the importance of strong host partnerships and ongoing support throughout the season.
Building Relationships Beyond the Workplace
The Summer Work Travel program is about more than a seasonal job. It’s an opportunity for participants to experience everyday life in the United States, discover new places, meet people from different backgrounds, and develop skills that stay with them long after the summer ends.
For Intrax, visiting host companies and checking in with participants is an important part of that experience. These conversations help us stay connected, understand how placements are going, and strengthen the relationships that make cultural exchange possible.
One highlight of the visits was a pizza lunch at Fountainhead’s Wedgewood Resort with U.S. Department of State representative. It was an opportunity to connect in a relaxed setting and recognize the people who help make these experiences possible.
Thank You to Our Alaska Host Partners
A successful season depends on collaboration. We’re grateful to our host partners and their teams for welcoming international participants, supporting them throughout their placements, and helping them feel part of their local communities.
From hospitality teams in Seward to lodges and resorts across the Denali and Fairbanks areas, each partnership plays a role in creating a summer filled with professional growth, cultural discovery, and new connections.
As the season continues, we look forward to seeing more of these experiences unfold across Alaska - and to hearing the stories participants will take home with them.
Thank you to our Alaska host partners for being part of the Intrax Work Travel community!
