The area includes well-known landmarks such as the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and small island towns. As a popular summer destination, OBX offers international students a chance to live and work in an authentic American beach-town setting while gaining work experience in hospitality, tourism, and retail.

Who's eligible

Currently enrolled in a university or four-year college

Between 18 and 28 years of age

Proficient in spoken English

Committed to fulfilling job duties for the duration of the program.

Have at least $1000 USD available to support yourself for the first month of the program.

Contact an IWT partner for program information and a screening interview. After the interview, the partner will show you complete descriptions of available jobs that meet your needs and qualifications.

Match with a company

You select a job and complete your paperwork. Your IWT partner will schedule another interview with you to ensure you meet the particular requirements for your job. We collect all documents and fees for submission.
